I'm Not Gonna Hold Your Hand When I Say This
This is a podcast for people who think deeply, notice patterns, and get tired of pretending they don’t.
Each episode is a real-time rant, reflection, or reckoning about culture, money, power, relationships, spirituality, and the quiet thoughts we usually edit out.
I’m not here to coach you, fix you, or hold your hand. I’m here to say the thing out loud so we can both sit with it.

Episode 4: There’s Nothing Secure About Your Job
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
We’re taught from childhood that a good job equals security. Follow the rules, be dependable, stay loyal, and you’ll be safe.
That story is outdated at best and dangerous at worst.
In this episode, I talk through the myth of job security and why at-will employment was never designed to protect workers, no matter how competent, hardworking, or committed they are. We unpack how many of us were conditioned to be employees instead of owners, followers instead of leaders, and why betting on yourself feels scarier than it actually is.
This is not an episode telling everyone to quit their job or become an entrepreneur. It’s a conversation about expanding how you think about safety, stability, and power. We talk about diversifying your skills, your income potential, and your sense of identity so your livelihood isn’t tied to a single institution’s decision.
We also get honest about why jobs feel safer than they are, why layoffs are treated like surprises instead of features of the system, and how comfort and familiarity often masquerade as security.
If you’ve ever felt anxious about your job, guilty for wanting more autonomy, or unsure how to start trusting yourself outside of traditional employment structures, this episode is for you.
No fear-mongering.
No hustle culture.
Just a reality check and a wider lens.
